Reconstructive Breast Surgery

Reconstructive breast surgery allows women to restore the shape and symmetry of their breasts following breast cancer or other medical conditions. Our focus is on modern, tissue-conserving techniques that achieve natural results with minimal risks.

The choice of method depends on the individual needs and medical conditions of each patient. Both implants and autologous tissue offer effective options for breast reconstruction. While implants often provide a simpler solution, reconstruction with autologous tissue – such as fat grafting (lipofilling) or free flap techniques – can be a natural alternative.

In close consultation with our patients, we develop a tailored treatment plan that takes both medical aspects and personal preferences into account to ensure the best possible breast reconstruction outcome.

My Career Path

My specialization in plastic surgery began at Inselspital Bern under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. M. Constantinescu, where I acquired a comprehensive range of plastic surgical techniques. By successfully passing the EBOPRAS examination in Brussels and Oxford, I was awarded the FMH title for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.

I pursued advanced training in reconstructive breast surgery under Prof. Dr. med. D. Erni. As a deputy senior physician, I deepened my expertise in oncological consultations and at the Breast Tumor Center of Inselspital Bern, in collaboration with Dr. Stengle.

My path then led me to Frauenfeld, where I further developed my skills in breast reconstruction under the leadership of PD Dr. med. T. Holzbach. In this demanding position, I refined my surgical competencies and managed complex cases, particularly in post-cancer breast reconstruction.

At the same time, I began working at the Centerclinic, where I am now a partner and co-owner. In addition, I serve as an attending physician at Lindenhofspital Bern and a consultant physician at SZO Visp.
